The Hasentree Country Club Charity Classic brought together the Wake Forest and Research Triangle communities for a day of golf with a purpose. This premier event wasn’t only about the competition on the course, it carried a deeper meaning, honoring lives lost too soon and raising awareness for causes that create lasting impact.

Proceeds supported two vital organizations: the Riley John’s Blue Boot Foundation, founded in memory of Riley John Bourgeois to promote water safety education, and the Invited Employee Care Foundation, which provides assistance to employees and their families during times of hardship. The tournament also paid tribute to Cooper Smith, the 3-year-old son of Hasentree’s Golf Course Superintendent, Daniel, whose life was tragically lost in a drowning accident last fall.
Every swing, every sponsorship, and every show of support contributed to something greater than the game itself. The Charity Classic became more than a tournament, it was a community standing together in compassion, remembrance, and hope for a safer future.
Let’s create something extraordinary together.
